Proper expectations make life better

This past Christmas I got my wife a Cricut machine and a variety of accessories, so she can create various craft projects around the house. So far she’s done great! However, there are a lot of things she’s still unable to do and it can be frustrating, but she recognizes that it’s just part of the process. Knowing that some things will be tough for now is helping her to enjoy the journey, versus getting frustrated when new challenges come up.

The Wing

It’s like a restaurant near us called “The Wing“. They have excellent food, but are often very slow. The first time we went and it took “too long” to get our food, it was frustrating. We were hungry and ready to eat.

Now, though, we know that going in and if we’re in a hurry we don’t go there. When we do go, we just sit back and enjoy time with each other. We fully expect they’ll be slow, so we’re not surprised or upset if that proves to be true. The food is great and it’s worth the wait. With proper expectations, we enjoy our time there much more.

Don’t Slack

That’s not to excuse their slow service, as they should always be striving to be the best — just like we all should. However, if you can set proper expectations it can help you to enjoy your day to a much greater level.
