Being curious is a fantastic trait to have, but it only works if you’re being honestly curious. Too many times, people feign curiosity to appear nice but have no interest in hearing a contrarian point of view.
In her excellent book “I Never Thought of It That Way“, Monica Guzman put it succinctly perfect:
“Curiosity is worthless without honesty.“
Be curious, but be honest and be willing to change your mind. You probably won’t very often, but if you never do that’s quite a big problem.
