Promote what you love, or bash what you hate?

When you’re in a competitive environment, be it sports, business, or politics, there are two ways you can approach things: you can promote what you love, or you can bash the other side. There may be some merit to each, but we’re all generally better off if we focus on ourselves.

In his book “Excellent Advice for Living“, Kevin Kelly says:

“You will thrive more —and so will others— when you promote what you love rather than bash what you hate. Life is short; focus on the good stuff.”

I appreciate a business that showcases their benefits, rather than one that pushes down the competition.

I appreciate a politician that shares their goals and plans, rather than one that fights against “them” on the other side.

Promote what you love, and do it with dignity.
