The most useful business photo might be the entrance

Years ago, I had a doctor’s appointment to go to and I had no idea where their office was located. However, when I pulled up their website they had a photo of their main sign on it and I recognized it immediately! It was super helpful. More often than not, giving people a photo of your entrance so they can find your business can be a very useful thing do to.

For example, if you go to the “Directions” page on our website (which I send to anyone that will be coming in to visit us), the very top shows the big sign for the office park where our coworking space is located. It makes the initial “where do I pull in and park?” question disappear right away.

That said, this isn’t always the case. As I shared 20 years ago on this blog, if your business is people focused and your business is easy enough to spot from the road (both of which are true for churches), then sticking a picture of your building on the front page of your site is a bad idea.

As with most things, just take a minute to decide for yourself and do what’s most helpful for your customers. For you, that may mean photos of your building or it might not, but taking the time to make an intentional decision will always serve you well.
