Say it again

I heard it again, so I’ll say it again: I need to say it again.

The ability to consistently repeat yourself is a valuable quality.

  • Seth Godin always says to think “Who is it for and what is it for?”
  • Donald Miller reminds us that “If you snooze, you lose.”
  • Gary Vaynerchuk constantly pushes the idea of “kind candor”.
  • Marie Forleo knows that “everything is figureoutable”.

In a recent fantastic episode of the “My First Million” podcast, they shared a simple truth:

“To be a great, great CEO, you have to enjoy telling the same stories again and again and again, hundreds of times.”

That’s not to say you shouldn’t be innovative and come up with new ideas, but there are two reasons to often stick with the good stuff.

  1. In the cases above, those are essentially the building blocks of their companies and shouldn’t be ignored.
  2. When it comes to marketing, when you’re getting sick of saying the same thing over and over the public is just barely starting to catch on.

Keep learning and keep sharing, but don’t stop promoting the stuff that makes you great.
