Here’s a bit about what I wrote, read and learned over the past week. I hope you find it helpful!
Blog posts from the past week
- Why do I need to see your post that you didn’t even write? “Why do you think you’re so special that I need to see your post on LinkedIn that you didn’t even write and aren’t there even to post? What kind of drivel are you posting that is so important to put out there?”
- Data Never Sleeps: AI Edition. How much activity surrounds AI worldwide every minute? This great infographic unpacks it.
- Permanent packing lists. It’s a small thing, but keeping a packing list ready to go makes things much easier when it’s time for a trip.
- Merry Christmas.
- Physicists are the Peter Pans of the human race. We are born full of questions. We want to know the names of things. We want to know how they work. Most of all, we want to know why, why, why. But too many people lose this impulse as they grow into adults. “I think physicists are the Peter Pans of the human race,” Isidor Rabi once said. “They never grow up, and they keep their curiosity.”
- The virtual keeps the relationship connected. “We talk and we even say hi and know each other. And then in between those, the virtual keeps the relationship connected unless you decide to outsource it to AI.”
Books that I’m reading
I read for a total of 7:12 last week with the following:
- Finished “Irresistible“
- Continued “Pride and Prejudice“
- Continued “Finding Focus“
- Continued “Amusing Ourselves to Death“
- Started “The Cost of These Dreams“
Tech Rec
Stealing the idea from my friends at the Tech Talk Y’all podcast, I’ll drop in some tech recommendation every week as well.
- Bookshelf app. As I find myself bouncing between different reading apps (and paper books), tracking my reading time has become a little tricky. The Bookshelf app is a simple iOS app that lets me track my reading time by book, both with manual input and with a timer. It’s simple and does a nice job.
I hope you found some value in this. If you ever have questions, ideas, or disagreements regarding anything I write, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
