If you’re doing any kind of marketing, clicks are important. You want people to click on your posts, click on your videos, and click on your website. However, the real magic happens between the clicks.
Are people telling their friends about that great episode of your podcast?
Are people taking the time to read the latest case study on your site?
Are people coming to hear you speak at that event next week?
I’ll refer again to my friend Jason Blumer and how we ended up hiring his CPA firm. You can read the full story here, but essentially it was a few clicks with a ton of non-clicks in-between.
- I heard him speak at a conference.
- I subscribed to his blog and it then came to me automatically.
- I told Ali about his great podcast.
- I read a lot of his stuff on LinkedIn.
- I eventually clicked on his site to hire him.
The clicks were important, but it’s the other stuff that grew our trust in him.
Do you occupy space in your niche between the clicks?
