The myth of the finished website

Congratulations, your new website is finished! 100% done, and seemingly perfect in every way.

Yeah, sorry, it’s not. When you launch your next website, I hope you’re thrilled with how it came out and you’re excited to show it off to the world. If you consider it “done”, though, you might have some big problems.

A periodic website refresh is crucial, but we’ve all seen a ton of website that got a huge, beautiful overhaul and then… just sat there. As I mentioned recently, what happens between website redesigns is what really matters.

The new launch is great, but now you need to keep the site fast, secure, and running smoothly, and you need to always be adding content and making small adjustments to improve things.

This isn’t complicated or expensive, but it’s often overlooked. When’s the last time you made a tweak to your website?
