As I shared near the end of 2023 and 2024, I don’t set many goals for myself but I work hard to keep pushing in the directions that I want to go.
In particular:
- I once again was able to publish a post every day (though I took two weeks off for our family trip to Italy), and I hope I can continue that for a long time into the future.
- The Stacking Knowledge podcast continues to grow, with a new episode almost every week and we’re up to 68 episodes now.
- My Anki streak is up to 2,765 days now, which has been an amazing tool to use.
- My Duolingo streak is up to 1,426 days now, but I’ve still been kind of lazy about just knocking out a single lesson most days, so my skills haven’t improved much. I one again need to get more serious about this one.
- My use of Supernatural (and other exercise) increased again this year, but I don’t have specific metrics that I can easily assemble. I still attribute the increase largely to their multiplayer mode, as I meet with some friends almost every weekday for a short group workout.
- I’ve gotten more serious about trying to visit Readwise at least once per day, but I broke my streak while we were in Italy and it’s now at 111 days in a row (but 588 out of the last 589). Such a great tool!
- I’ve been more consistent about reading, but I don’t have a substantial streak there. It’s certainly “most days”, but nothing impressive. My goal is to eventually do something like Adam Walker, who now has a streak of over 1,000 days of reading at least an hour a day. Wow!
Consistency is key, and I’ll keep pushing forward on all of these items to help make 2026 another great year! What are you planning to focus on next year?
