The Sunday Summary: Obstacles, reading the Bible, and the power inbetween website redesigns

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Here’s a bit about what I wrote, read and learned over the past week. I hope you find it helpful!

Blog posts from the past week

  • Obstacles are your life. “Your reward for solving the problem in front of you is the problem behind it that was brought into existence by you solving the problem. That is the rest of your life. That is the rest of your business. That is the rest of the political economy, the country, the world.”
  • Rereading the Bible. Back in 2022, I read the full Bible over the course of a year following the 49-Week Challenge from YouVersion. I shared some details here, and it went well. I’ve been planning to re-read it in full again in 2026, but I wasn’t sure where to start. I could certainly run the 49-Week Challenge again, but wanted to perhaps mix things up.
  • The streaks from 2025. As I shared near the end of 2023 and 2024, I don’t set many goals for myself but I work hard to keep pushing in the directions that I want to go.
  • A year of LinkedIn. I was quite active on Linkedin in 2025, so I thought I’d take a look at how things went. I built this nifty infographic seen below in about two minutes using a free AI tool to help me do it.
  • Watershed moments are usually hidden when they happen, but we’re in one now. “This is a watershed moment. We don’t get to know when we’re in them usually. We are in it right now.”
  • What happens between website redesigns is what actually matters. It doesn’t take a lot of effort, but so many companies tend to “set it and forget it” that even a little bit of regular adjustment can give you a huge advantage. Big launches are awesome, but the impact is made in the ongoing tweaks.

Books that I’m reading

I read for a total of 4:43 last week with the following:

Tech Rec

Stealing the idea from my friends at the Tech Talk Y’all podcast, I’ll drop in some tech recommendation every week as well.

  • MyRadar App. I like having a good weather app on hand, and the default iPhone and Android weather apps do a pretty good job. For a quick look at the radar, though, to see exactly what the new few minutes will be looking like MyRadar is a fantastic free app. It’s nothing special, but it has a solid radar and centers on your location and animates automatically, and it’s a super easy way to see if those dark clouds on the horizon are going to trouble or not.

I hope you found some value in this. If you ever have questions, ideas, or disagreements regarding anything I write, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
