In an effort to help me keep up with everything I post each week, here is my latest “Sunday Summary” of my posts from the week.
Mon, August 7: People aren’t tennis balls
Tennis balls always bounce the same way in the same situation, but people are far less predictable. This is a big part of what makes design so challenging and fun.
Tue, August 8: Getting more out of the books I read
I read a lot of books, but I’m struggling to retain as much as I’d like. Here are some of my plans on how to help fix that, and they’re things that should give some value to you as well.
Wed, August 9: Find more problems
Noticing and resolving problems when they pop up is a great thing, but proactively seeking out problems is even better.
Thu, August 10: When is it for you, and when is it for someone else?
In the work I do every day, some of it is for me and some of it is for other people. It’s not always clear which is which, so taking the time to define that can be very helpful.
Fri, August 11: One more set of fresh eyes
It’s always good to have someone else review your work, and that someone else can even be you if you allow a bit of time between creation and review.
Sat, August 12: The times we fight with ourselves
If “I had to hold my tongue”, who is the person holding my tongue and what is their relationship to me?
I hope you found some value in this. If you ever have questions, ideas, or disagreements regarding anything I write, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
